Grandpa’s Passing

10 minute video including footage of me saying my goodbyes to Grandpa and thinking about his passing. (tear warning)

*The video stops near the end, but the audio continues. The visual that was lost is of grandpa on his deathbed. Maybe the universe didn’t want that imagry shown. :)*
I am working on a more uplifting video as we speak.

Thank you so much for sharing something so intimate. This is important stuff, the cycle of life, and you are handling this all with such grace.

On the day that my Grandfather died he called my house repeatedly until he got a hold of me. I had dial up then, and my call display kept coming up his number so I logged off and called him back to see what was up. “Oh nothing” he said, “I just wanted to talk to you”

He died just a few hours later.

What a gift I received that day and I carry it with me still, you have yours now too, we are lucky souls indeed!

How lovely too, that you and your mom were surrounding him with so much love as he became a butterfly. I don’t think anyone could ask for more.

In the midst of sadness there is also great joy. Namaste.

John, thank you for sharing this .. what a profound experience. i don’t know a whole lot but i feel that it is your mission to carry on your Grandpa’s legacy … to let his light shine in and through you … for you to continue his mission of love … and to be the one to teach Baby Caleb all about his namesake … so when he grows up he knows what a wonderful man his great grandpa was … as well as what a great man his uncle is.

    peace to you …

    Hi John-
I just read Caleb’s obit online. Very life-affirming. Did he write it or did you? It had a little of both of you in it.

My thoughts are with you and your family…
